Hi, I'm Luis.

I was born in 1978 in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz).
During my last years of high school my father gave me a book of university careers, where I "chose", without a doubt, the one that deals with the soul.

Biography

University of Seville

At the age of 18, after a serious accident in London, where I fractured two lumbar vertebrae, I moved to Seville to begin a career in Psychology.

Three years later, moved by surfing and my spirit of adventure, I transferred my file to the University of the Basque CountryI spent my last two years of my career in Donostia. It was here where I was initiated in meditation and Transpersonal Psychology.

European Volunteer Service

Once I graduated (2001), I started to have my first professional experiences: participating in the European Volunteer Service (Wroclaw, Poland), where I lived for almost a year. Also, I participated as a social educator in a center for minors (Mallorca), and later, as a psychologist in a center for drug addictions (Cadiz).

Jera Gestalt School

During this first professional incursion, I began to train as a humanistic psychotherapist in Jerawhere I had the opportunity to soak in the work of great psychotherapists. I also did other therapeutic work, such as the MAR Process for dealing with grief.

School of Systemic Family Therapy: Kaleidoscope

While I was training in Gestalt, I immersed myself for a couple of years in the Systemic Family Therapywhere I acquired a very clear vision of this particular approach, which is therapeutic in itself.

Rockford Public Schools

In 2006 I was informed about the possibility of working in the USA as a teacher. A feeling of certainty made me prepare myself for the process that would lead me to work for two school years as a support teacher in elementary schools in the United States. RockfordIllinois.

My vocation claimed its place, which led me to attend various psychotherapy workshops offered in my area, especially Psychodrama and Family Constellations, as well as training at the Gestalt Institute at Cleveland.

Surprisingly, a decade later I returned to this place, this time to mentor several groups of teenagers.

Gestalt Institute of Cleveland

The icing on the cake of this first U.S. sojourn is a postgraduate training program at the Gestalt Institute of Clevelandwhose characteristic gestalt approach to the "East Coast" left an indelible impression on my practice as a psychotherapist.

SAT Program

For several years I have been deepening, through Claudio Naranjo and his team, in the fusion of meditation and psychotherapy, as well as in the valuable tool represented by the Enneagram. This wisdom has been very present in my development until today.

Sacred Journey

I finish my journey as a teacher with the decision to focus on my career as a psychotherapist. Being aware of the special situation in which I find myself, I take the opportunity to travel the American continent with a beloved Buick Century (Gitancar).

Psychospirituality became the main leitmotiv of this trip, conditioning my itinerary based on the Humanistic Psychology workshops or spiritual practices that were presented along the way. I met with renowned psychotherapists from the American continent such as: Gerardo Ortiz, Jorge Llanos, Claudio NaranjoNorberto Levi y Adriana Schnake. And others not so well known... although they could be.

I meditated in places of great beauty and energetic charge; as well as on the road... conscious driving became both a challenge and a pleasure. But I especially highlight the honor of interacting with endearing people; people of immeasurable courage; as tender as they were strong. It was definitely a transforming journey, or as a companion called it: "initiatory".

La Montera Classroom

After a year's journey, I returned to Spain and completed my Gestalt training at the La Montera Classroom. I am once again tasting the work of great therapists, this time with a greater capacity for discernment. After six years in contact with Humanistic Psychotherapy, I feel that I have cultivated certain criteria.

University of Cadiz

It is 2010, I have settled in the city of Cadiz. A new cycle has begun: beginnings in all aspects. I intend to develop a doctorate and research on meditation. What is my surprise to discover that there is a thriving line of research in this area; known by the anglicism of Mindfulness.

Sincronía

Simultaneously, I establish my practice (Centro Sincronía), where I will work as a psychotherapist for 8 years. During this period I leave behind my status as a novice therapist, experiencing a certain mastery both in the transmission of the meditative state as well as in guiding therapeutic processes.

Psikered

It has been an honor to serve the patients who for three and a half years have come to my practice through Psikered. People who had recently lost a loved one.

Sacred Journey II

History, enigmatically, repeats itself. After two years as a docent in Rockford, IL Something I would never have imagined! Me found the conditions to carry out a much desired pilgrimage through the Indian subcontinent.

My vision, this time a little deeper; the magic of these places, and their inhabitants, have shaped me in their own way... And I am happy to conceive that my work, in some way, involves this exceptional experience.
